As a partner in Cooper Grace Ward’s commercial team, Linda specialises in providing tailored advice and support services to accountants, financial planners and other professional advisers.

As a partner in Cooper Grace Ward’s commercial team, Linda specialises in providing tailored advice and support services to accountants, financial planners and other professional advisers.

Linda provides technical advice on complex tax, capital gains tax (CGT) and Division 7A issues, and acts on business sales and acquisitions to ensure clients achieve commercial and tax effective outcomes.

Prior to joining Cooper Grace Ward, Linda worked as an accountant for 18 years, advising clients on capital gains, business acquisitions, and restructuring, providing her with a unique insight into her current clients’ business environment. She also regularly conducts seminars and training on topics including business structuring, CGT small business concessions and Division 7A issues.

Queensland trusts can now run for 125 years – what you need to know

In a significant boost to tax planning arrangements and intergenerational wealth management, Queensland trusts will be able to run for 125 years from 1 August 2025. This change, introduced under the Property Law Act 2023 (Qld), will increase the current maximum life of trusts (called the perpetuity period or vesting period) by 45 years to 125 years (up from the existing 80-year limit).
